What's wrong with my Rechargeable Head Torch unit?

Through feedback and thorough testing, we have identified that an individual batch of KickAss Head Torches has a manufacturing defect, which can cause the unit to overheat to an unsafe temperature which can lead to the product deforming, and possibly causing injury and harm.

How do I know if I have a defective Head Torch?

We have been selling our Head Torches for years, without fault until our latest manufacturing batch. For extra precautionary reasons, we are asking all customers who purchased a unit between 1 March 2025 and 23 April 2025 to stop using their head torches immediately. Please check your order confirmation or invoice for the purchase date. If you are unsure when you purchased your head torch, please feel free to contact us. 

Can I keep using my Head Torch?

No, please stop using your Head Torch immediately. Even if your unit is not overheating, we are asking all customers who have purchased a Head Torch between 1 March 2025 and 23 April 2025 to dispose of the unit and proceed with the recall replacement/refund form. 

How do I apply for a recall replacement?

Simply visit our Head Torch Recall page, complete the recall form, including your desired outcome, and submit. We will then send you a replacement head torch free of charge or process a credit or refund, depending on your preferred outcome. There is no need to return your current Head Torch, please dispose of it safely.

I received a free head torch from KickAss in-store during Cyclone Alfred (QLD) and didn’t get an invoice - what should I do?

If you were given a head torch as a goodwill gesture during Cyclone Alfred and did not receive an invoice, please bring the torch back to your nearest KickAss store (QLD). Our team will assist you with lodging a recall replacement request on your behalf.
