General Information
What is the KickAss 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery?
This is the first release in the new Series 2 Ultra-X battery range; it is a high-performance, deep-cycle LiFePO4 battery designed for serious off-grid power systems. It delivers 300Ah of true usable capacity and a massive 300A continuous discharge current, making it ideal for powering 3000W Inverter and multiple high-draw appliances simultaneously. Key upgrades in Series 2 include an IP65-rated metal enclosure, an integrated Low Voltage Recovery (LVR) button.
How can I purchase the 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery?
You can purchase the KickAss 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery directly online through our website, call our sales team on (07) 3123 4715, or find a KickAss Store near you.
Where can I find the user manual?

Features & Monitoring
How do I monitor the 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery?
You can monitor the battery in two primary ways:
- Bluetooth Monitoring: Use the "KA Lithium" app (available on iOS and Android) to view real-time data such as State of Charge (SOC), voltage, current, temperature, and system alerts.
- Remote Display: Connect the optional KickAss Remote Display to the battery's RJ45 communication port for a fixed, at-a-glance monitoring solution inside your canopy or caravan.
Do I need an external shunt to monitor a bank of the 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery?
No. A key feature of the Ultra-X series is integrated bank monitoring. When you connect multiple batteries in series or parallel using the RJ45 data linking cables, the system aggregates the data. You can monitor the entire bank's total capacity, voltage, and current as a single system through the KA Lithium App or a single Remote Display, without needing to purchase or wire an external shunt.
What is the Low Voltage Recovery (LVR) button for?
When the battery is fully depleted, the internal BMS enters protection mode to prevent cell damage and disconnects the terminals. The LVR button is a temporary manual override that "wakes up" the BMS, allowing a charger to recognise the battery and begin the charging cycle.
What is the purpose of the ventilation port of the 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery?
The integrated 19mm ventilation port is a safety feature designed to support compliance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3001.2:2022 for battery installations in habitable areas, such as caravans.

Can I install the 300Ah Ultra-X Battery under my vehicle's bonnet?
No. The 300Ah Ultra-X Battery must not be installed in a vehicle's engine bay.
This battery is designed for installation in cabins, canopies, or dedicated battery boxes away from direct engine heat.
What mounting orientations are supported for the 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery?
The 300Ah Ultra-X battery's rugged metal case and prismatic cell construction, allowing for flexible installation. It can be securely mounted:
Flat on its base (horizontally).
On its long or short side (vertically).
Mounting brackets are included to support these installation orientations.
Warning: The battery weighs 30kg. Ensure the mounting surface and all fasteners are rated to support its weight and withstand vibration and forces during off-road travel. Do not mount the battery upside down.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
My 300Ah Ultra-X Battery has shut down on low voltage and won't charge. What should I do?
The BMS has likely activated Under Voltage Protection. Use the integrated Low Voltage Recovery (LVR) feature to wake the battery:
- Disconnect all loads.
- Connect an active, powered lithium charger, DCDC or ACDC charger to the battery terminals.
- Press the LVR button. The charger should now recognise the battery and begin the charging cycle.
- Allow the battery to charge fully to 100% before reconnecting loads.
I can't charge or discharge the 300Ah Ultra-X Lithium Battery. What should I check in the app?
Open the KA Lithium App and connect to the battery. Go to "Settings" and ensure that both the 'Charge Switch' and 'Discharge Switch' toggles are set to ON.
These switches electronically enable or disable charging and discharging, allowing the battery to be isolated when needed for storage or maintenance.
Need Ultimate Off-Grid Power?
Upgrade to the 300Ah Ultra-X for massive capacity, a 300A discharge rating, and intelligent monitoring for the most demanding 12V setups.
