To run the cooktop at its maximum performance (up to 2000W output), you will need a 2000W or larger Pure Sine Wave Inverter connected to a suitable battery bank.

However, because the cooktop features a built-in gentle start-up setting that defaults to Level 4 (800W) when first turned on, you can safely run it on a 1000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter provided you keep the cooking levels at or below Level 4 (800W).

Standard household cooktops cycle their power on and off at lower settings, which can overwhelm smaller off-grid inverter setups. The KickAss 2000W Induction Cooktop is specifically engineered for off-grid travel with two major upgrades:

1. Gentle Start-up: It starts cooking automatically at Level 4 (800W) to prevent sudden, high-power surges that could overload your inverter.
2. Continuous Low-Level Heating: It maintains steady, continuous heating at lower settings rather than cutting in and out. This ensures your sauces simmer gently and your food warms evenly without burning.

This unit gives you complete control over your cooking setup with two distinct operating modes:

• 10 Power Levels: Ranging from 200W (ideal for a gentle, low simmer) up to 2000W (for rapid boiling).
• 10 Temperature Settings: Spanning from 60°C to 240°C, letting you dial in the exact heat needed for everything from melting chocolate to searing a steak.

This unit requires induction-compatible cookware with a flat, magnetic metal base. Suitable options include:

• Cast iron pans and skillets
• Enamelled iron pots and plates
• Magnetic stainless steel pots and tea kettles

Important: Do not use plastic, copper, glass, ceramic, or aluminium cookware. If a magnet sticks firmly to the bottom of your pan, it is compatible with induction cooking.

The integrated digital timer can be set from 1 minute up to 3 hours. Simply press the Timer button on the control panel and use the "+" and "−" controls to select your desired duration. Once set, the screen will alternate between displaying your remaining cooking time and your active power or temperature level. The unit will automatically shut down and enter standby mode when the timer finishes.

We build our gear to be tough and safe for family use in remote camp zones. Built-in safety features include:

• Auto Cookware Detection: The unit will not heat up and will beep if it does not sense a compatible pot or pan in the cooking zone.

Cleaning up at camp is easy thanks to the flat, smooth glass-ceramic surface:

1. Turn off the cooktop, unplug it from your power source, and wait until the surface is completely cool.
2. Wipe down the glass surface using a soft, damp cloth.
3. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, harsh chemicals, or solvents.
4. Never immerse the cooktop, power cable, or plug in water. Ensure all components are dry before packing the unit back into its canvas carry bag.
