Features & Specifications

What is the AquaBoss Core and what is it used for?

The AquaBoss Core is a rugged, high-capacity 28L water storage solution designed for permanent or semi-permanent installation in caravans, ute trays, canopies, and custom touring setups. With an integrated 12V pump, gravity-fed tap, and multiple mounting points, it provides a reliable pressurised water system for showering, washing up, and general campsite use.

Is the AquaBoss Core safe for storing drinking water?

Yes. The tank is constructed from heavy-duty, BPA-free, food-grade Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). This ensures your water supply remains safe and clean for drinking, cooking, and washing.

How is the AquaBoss Core designed for installation?

The AquaBoss Core is specifically designed for secure vehicle integration. It features 10 built-in M6 nutserts (five on each side) for permanent mounting to a custom bracket or our purpose-built mounting tray (SKU: KAAQBCORE-28L-TRAY), which is sold separately. This ensures a stable fit that can withstand rough off-road conditions.

Setup & Usage

How do I power the 12V water pump?

The included 2m power cable is designed for a hardwired installation. Route the bare wire end to your vehicle's 12V system. Connect the positive (red) wire to a fused 12V supply and the negative (black) wire to a chassis ground or negative busbar. The threaded DC5521 connector screws securely into the pump housing to prevent it from vibrating loose.

Do I need to set up the breather line?

If the tank is mounted inside an enclosed space like a canopy or cabin, it is highly recommended to set up the breather line. Attach a hose (not included) to the 1/4" brass hose barb and route it to the exterior of the vehicle. This ensures any overflow or drips from the breather vent are directed outside, protecting your vehicle's interior from moisture.

Can I use the tank without the 12V pump?

Yes, the AquaBoss Core can be used in gravity-feed mode. To do this:

  1. Remove the 12V pump from the lid port and replace it with the supplied plastic lid cap.
  2. Unscrew the bung from the lower outlet port.
  3. Connect the included gravity-fed faucet using the supplied adapters.
  4. Elevate the tank above the point of use to allow water to flow via gravity. This mode is ideal for situations where 12V power is unavailable.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

The pump runs, but no water comes out. What should I check?

If the pump is running but not dispensing water, check the following:

  • Water Level: Ensure the tank has sufficient water.
  • Flow Control: Check the twisting volume adjustment knob on the spray gun nozzle. It may be fully closed, blocking water flow.
  • Hose Connections: Verify both quick-connect couplings on the coiled hose are fully clicked into place. A loose connection can draw in air and prevent the pump from priming.
  • Airlock: If the system is new or has run dry, an airlock can occur. Disconnect the shower head from the hose, turn the pump on, and let water flow to push any trapped air out before reattaching it.
How should I clean and maintain the AquaBoss Core?

Proper maintenance ensures a long service life:

  • Always wash the interior through the large 95mm filling port before first use and periodically between trips. Warning: Never use chemical solvents, fuel, or toxic cleaning agents inside the tank.
  • Avoid running the 12V pump for prolonged periods without water to prevent damage to the internal seals.
  • When not in use for extended periods, drain the tank completely and store it in a cool, dry place.
  • Regularly inspect all mounting screws and straps to ensure they remain tight and secure.
What precautions are required for freezing weather?

If the tank will be exposed to freezing conditions, you must drain it and all connected hoses completely. Water expands when it freezes, which will cause structural splitting and permanent damage to the tank body and brass fittings. This type of damage is not covered under warranty.
