No. This battery is designed as a robust, no-frills power source. It does not have Bluetooth connectivity or support for the KA Lithium App.
Can I connect a KickAss Remote Display to this battery?
No. This model does not have the communication ports required to connect to a KickAss remote display unit.
How do I monitor the battery's status?
To monitor information like State of Charge (SOC), current draw, and time remaining, you will need to install an external battery shunt. We recommend the KickAss 600A Smart Shunt with Battery and Tank Monitor (SKU: KASHUNTTANKLT) for accurate, real-time monitoring.
What are the dimensions and weight?
The battery is engineered to be compact. Its dimensions are 258mm (L) x 168mm (W) x 233mm (H), and it weighs only 12.55kg.
Installation & Compatibility
Can I connect multiple batteries together?
Yes. You can connect up to four of these batteries in parallel to increase capacity, or up to four in series to increase voltage. You cannot mix parallel and series connections in the same bank.
Important: Before connecting batteries, ensure each one is fully charged individually and then allowed to rest for 30 minutes. Only connect batteries of the same model and batch.
| Configuration | System Voltage | System Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| 1 x Battery | 12.8V | 120Ah |
| 4 x Batteries (Parallel) | 12.8V | 480Ah |
| 4 x Batteries (Series) | 51.2V | 120Ah |
Can I use this battery to start my vehicle?
No. This is a deep-cycle battery designed for storage and powering accessories. It is not suitable for cranking or starting engines.
Is there a specific mounting tray for this battery?
Yes. For a secure and professional installation, we recommend the KickAss 120 XB Compact Tray (SKU: KAP427).
What kind of charger should I use?
You must use a charger with a specific LiFePO4 (Lithium) charging profile. The charger must have a maximum charge voltage of 14.4V and must not exceed the battery's maximum continuous charge current of 120A. All KickAss AC-DC and DC-DC chargers are compatible.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
My battery seems dead and won't power anything. What should I do?
The internal Battery Management System (BMS) may have activated Under Voltage Protection (UVP) because the voltage dropped below 10V. This protects the battery from damage. To recover it, you need to use a compatible charger with a lithium activation or recovery mode.
- Method 1 (Recommended): Use an AC charger with a dedicated "Lithium Recovery Mode".
- Method 2: Connect the battery to a KickAss DC-DC Charger. Our DCDC chargers have an automatic lithium recovery function that will wake the battery once it detects a charging source from the vehicle's alternator.
Always disconnect all loads from the battery before attempting recovery.
How should I store the battery if I'm not using it for a while?
If storing for an extended period, fully charge the battery first. To maintain its health and service life, recharge it every three months. Store it in a dry location between -20°C and 45°C.
My external battery shunt is showing an inaccurate State of Charge (SOC). How do I fix it?
To recalibrate your shunt's SOC reading, perform a full charge cycle. Charge the battery continuously until your charger indicates it is 100% full (voltage reaches approx. 14.4V). Once fully charged, manually reset your shunt’s SOC to 100% if it doesn't synchronise automatically.
